Ken Chertow Wrestling

Our 2023 summer camp is at the spacious Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, PA.  We learn, drill, wrestle, and eat our meals in this super facility.  Wrestlers and staff will be housed in both the nearby Altoona Grand Hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott which is attached to the convention center.  We have conducted our camps in central Pennsylvania successfully for over 20 years, and we look forward to helping your wrestler this summer, July 8-23. 

 

Most teenagers register as resident campers. This includes overnight lodging and meals in addition to all of the learning, drilling, and wrestling. Many younger campers register as commuters, which means they share a hotel room with their parent(s) at the Altoona Grand Hotel.  During the registration process, parents can request for us to reserve you and your family a private hotel room at a discounted rate in addition to a meal plan, so you can have the whole camp experience with your wrestler. This is a great opportunity to bond with your wrestler and form friendships with other wrestling families. We of course also welcome traditional commuters who live locally. Wrestlers who commute will receive all meals throughout the duration of camp as part of the registration fee.

TEEN CAMPS - Super Gold and Gold Medal Camps

SUPER GOLD MEDAL TRAINING CAMP

16-day Intensive Learning and Training Camp  for $1,950 for residents; $1,700 for commuters

• July 8-23 (Saturday through Sunday)

We provide world-class technical instruction, intensive drilling, systematic review sessions, daily live wrestling, and sports science seminars. You will learn and retain critical techniques, while developing the concentration, intensity, and commitment required to become a champion. We can customize the curriculum to fit your needs. For wrestlers looking to make a serious commitment to excel, there is no better choice than our Super Gold Medal Training Camp.

 

GOLD MEDAL TRAINING CAMP

6-days for $750 for residents; $650 for commuters

• July 8-13 (Saturday through Thursday)
• July 15-20 (Saturday through Thursday)

9-days for $1,125; $1,000 for commuters

• July 15-23 (Saturday through Sunday)

Designed for the serious teenage wrestler. The focus will be on hard drilling and live wrestling. In addition, you will receive advanced, small group technique instruction in the areas of your choice.

 

YOUTH CAMPS - SuperKid Technique and Training, Kids Training, and Future Champions Camps

SUPERKID TECHNIQUE and TRAINING CAMP

9-days for $1,125; $1,000 for commuters

Our 6-day Kids Training Camp has been a huge success for decades. We have had many youth choose to stay for more than 6 days and train with the teens. This summer, we have decided to provide a 9 day, intensive learning and training camp specifically for serious wrestlers entering grades 4-7. 

 

KIDS TRAINING CAMP

6-days for $750 for residents; $650 for commuters

• July 8-13 (Saturday through Thursday)
• July 15-20 (Saturday through Thursday)

Kids Training Camp is a variation of the Gold Medal Training Camp designed for serious wrestlers in grades 3 - 6. This is a step up from the Future Champions Camp for the hard core young wrestler.  Most first time campers in our Kids Training Camp attend with a parent too or at least a friend from home. 

Parents who want to stay with their wrestler in a private room at one of our partnering hotels, select the commuter box and also private room. We reserve a hotel room for you at our discounted rate. If you want to have meals with your wrestler, select parent meals during check-out.

 

FUTURE CHAMPIONS CAMP

4-days for $400 (includes instruction & meals for the wrestler; housing not included)

Designed for wrestlers grades 1–3 who have varying degrees of skill, experience, and attention span. We cater to the needs of both novice and advanced wrestlers, providing small group, personalized instruction.

The Personalized Technique Camp is specifically designed for teen wrestlers with little to moderate experience, as well as for experienced wrestlers who want to refine and expand their current repertoire.

 

GIRLS CAMPS - SuperGirl Technique and Training, Girls Gold Medal, and Girls Technique Camps

4-days for $500 for residents; $425 for commuters

The Personalized Technique Camp is specifically designed for teen wrestlers with little to moderate experience, as well as for experienced wrestlers who want to refine and expand their current repertoire.

 

We have been successfully conducting camps for girls for over 20 years and summer 2023 is bigger and will be better than ever with many partners for girls of all sizes, ages, and skill levels.

Group of 4 wrestlers = $25 discount/wrestler

Group of 8 wrestlers = $50 discount/wrestler

Group of 12 wrestlers = $50 discount/wrestler and a coach/parent can attend free (housed with another coach) along with an "all you can eat" meal package. 

For everyone in a group to receive the discount, all applications must be received by March 30.
